the the single largest UK manufacturer devoted exclusively to the
production of model railway tracks and accessories covering all of
the popular gauges. The headquarters are located close to us in the
picturesque fishing village of Beer where it has an indoor exhibition,
its own Beer Heights Light Railway powered by miniature steam and diesel locomotives), childrens
play areas, crazy golf, cafes & restaurant. We often take our grandchildren there and they enjoy every minute of it. The indoor railway displays and the outdoor play area are their favourites. |

Donkey Sanctuary Sidmouth |

Just outside the town of Sidmouth, The
Donkey Sanctuary is home to around 500 donkeys. The Donkey Sanctuary is open 365 days
a year from 9.00 a.m. until dusk. Admission and parking are free.
Visitors are free to spend as much time as they wish, meeting the
donkeys.There are marked walks, nature trails, a visitors
centre & shop, toilet facilities, restaurant & ice cream shop.
It is very pushchair, wheelchair & dog
friendly! Another place we love to bring our grandchildren. They love the donkeys, the cafe & ice cream shop are both excellent. Donations to the charity are always welcome. |

Axe Valley Bird & Animal Park |

A small Bird and Animal Park just outside Kilmington and Axminster, so 10 miles from Beer. A lovely small farm park very very small children friendly with racoons, wallabies, porcupines, pigs and lots of birds. An excellent play area, with picnic tables, refreshments, toilets, free parking. |

The River Cottage Local Produce Store and Canteen is located in the centre of Axminster on Trinity Square. It has a wide variety of produce which has been sourced locally by Hugh and his team. Also books plus smallholder supplies and
specially chosen British wine, beers and spirits list (Gerry and both our sons love the Stinger beer). The Canteen offers the best from the South West. Look at their website to find out more. But definitely well worth a visit. |
