RECORD PLANES AND OTHER TOOLS. L. Harrison.
A thoroughly researched account of the history of Record planes from the founding of the original company C & J Hampton in 1898 through the acquisition of the Preston List in the early 1930s to the position of Record Tools in 1998. Accompanying this is a reprint of the complete February 1938 No. 15 Catalogue, now considered most representative & the peak of the pre-Second World War production. Dates for introduction of each plane after 1938 and various adaptations are all listed in great detail. The author has had full co-operation and approval of the firm in his researches. Illustrations of planes and parts appear throughout the text. Appropriate patent documents are included, also a guide to recent prices realised.
